Alzheimer's, Dementia, and Memory Loss Care
When a loved one is experiencing memory loss, whether its due to age, Alzheimer’s, or Dementia, we understand the effects this can have on the individual and their family. Once simple tasks like going to the grocery store, running errands, and preparing meals become increasingly challenging to do without a helping hand. Our caregivers can assist your loved one with everything they need to feel comfortable, safe, and independent in their own home. For additional information and support, download our app via the App Store.
In-Home Companion Care
Companion caregivers can visit for a few hours a day or stay 24/7 as a live-in healthcare companion. Our caregivers will help your loved one with daily tasks, but our unique matching system is what makes us different from most care agencies. Using our AccessMatch program, we’ll make sure that your loved one and their caregiver have personalities that go well together. Your loved one won’t only appreciate their caregiver, but look forward to seeing them and spending time together.
Chronic or Long-Term Care
With long-term or chronic conditions, like Parkinson’s, Cancer, and Multiple Sclerosis, it can be difficult for families to evenly divide caregiver responsibilities. It’s almost impossible for one person to care for a family member full time, as they likely have a job and many other responsibilities already. Our compassionate caregivers are here to help. They’re committed to ensuring your loved one’s comfort, safety, and independence.
Additional In-Home Care Services
We believe all families deserve compassionate in-home care. Our goal is to provide you and your family with the attentive, one-on-one care they need. Our trained and certified caregivers have experience and empathy, so you know you’ll be receiving the best quality care from someone who truly cares. If your loved one needs a service you don’t see listed here, just give us a call and we will assist you in finding the help you need.

Flexible In-Home Health Care Services
Hourly Visits
We offer flexible scheduling for our hourly visits, so you can be sure that your caregiver visits work with your family’s schedule. A caregiver can visit with your loved one daily, weekly, or anywhere in between, and can stay for an hour or the entire day. Plus, you can rest easy knowing that we never require commitments or contracts, so you’re always able to postpone or cancel services when needed.
Live-in Caregivers
If your loved one needs more constant care, you may want to consider our live-in caregiver option. A live-in companion will provide round-the-clock care, and can assist your loved one as much or as little as they need. Live-in companions are ideal if your loved one has a chronic illness or severe memory loss, but are also excellent for providing your loved one with the assistance they need to remain independent, and providing you peace of mind.
Customized Home Care
Does your loved one need more than one kind of assistance? We’re committed to providing you with a stress-free experience, so you never have to worry about finding separate caregivers to provide the care your family needs. Your care plan is fully customizable, so your loved one’s needs will always be met.
How We Ensure the Best Care for Seniors in the Greater St. Louis Area of Missouri
Accessible Home Health Care was co-founded by Mirella Salem after she struggled to find compassionate, reliable in-home care for her aging mother. She was frustrated with the lack of consistency and accountability when it came to elder care. We began a public awareness campaign, which we now call our "Patient's Bill of Rights," and actively lobbied for stricter laws governing in-home health care. We want to surpass industry standards, not just meet them, which is why we created three unique programs that ensure every caregiver provides your loved ones with the most compassionate, knowledgeable care.
Access Match Program
We strongly believe that the right caregiver can improve your loved one's quality of life! Through our Access Match Program, we use your loved one's health needs, background, and personality to match them with a caregiver they will look forward to seeing.
AccessSuperiorKare Program
Compassionate care begins with compassionate caregivers! We find the best caregivers and provide them with continuous learning through our ASK program. This ensures that all of our caregivers share the same goals and guidelines for providing the best in home care.
Compassionate Alzheimer's & Loss of Memory Support
Medical advancements are constantly being made in regards to Alzheimer's, Dementia, and memory loss. Our CALMS program provides all of our caregivers with continuous learning so they are knowledgeable and up-to-date, enabling them to provide the best care for your loved one.

The AHHC St. Louis, Missouri Leadership Team
A part of St. Louis County for years, our care team feels deeply connected to the wellbeing of our local community and the seniors that live there. We’re dedicated to providing compassionate care to help St. Louis seniors remain active in their communities and independent in their own homes.
Lynn Schenck
Director of Client Relations
Lynn Schenck retired from a successful career as a commercial real estate broker. When given the opportunity to partner with her son Andy Schenck to provide professional and compassionate home care to those in need in St. Louis County, she enthusiastically decided to join him.
In addition to holding many professional volunteer and mentoring positions in the real estate industry, she has long served the community in a volunteer capacity. She has served the Board of Directors of Ronald McDonald House, Safe Connections, and Nurses for Newborns. She has chaired the Board of Trustees at Kirkwood United Methodist Church, been trained and served as a Stephens Minister, and participated in missions locally and afar. She is a certified yoga instructor and attended advance training in Yoga for Seniors at Duke University.
Lynn is committed to providing the highest level of care to her clients and respect for her caregivers.
Andy Schenck
Executive Director
Andy Schenck has spent the last several years in professional sales. While enjoying success in selling, he wanted to help those in need. After watching his grandparents suffer from dementia and seeing them forced to move from their homes to residential care facilities, he determined there was a need for more caregivers offering quality care so that seniors could age in place.
Andy has always been a caring person. He is an Eagle Scout. He attended SMU on an academic scholarship and majored in finance. He relocated from Dallas, Texas to start his home healthcare business with Lynn Schenck in St. Louis.
Andy will deliver high energy leadership and compassion to his staff and his clients.
To find resources and connect with other families, you can download the Accessible Alzheimer and Dementia Care App.
We believe that everyone deserves the care they need at a price they can afford.

What geographic areas and neighborhoods does your St. Louis office cover?
Our local office, conveniently located in Creve Coeur, proudly provides in-home care for seniors across the entire greater St. Louis metropolitan area. Our regular geographic coverage includes:
- St. Louis County: Including Creve Coeur, Chesterfield, Ladue, Clayton, Town and Country, Kirkwood, Webster Groves, Wildwood, and Florissant.
- St. Louis City: Providing downtown and neighborhood-specific urban senior care.
- St. Charles County: Including St. Charles, O’Fallon, St. Peters, and Wentzville.
If you live just outside these specific borders, please reach out to our office directly—we frequently accommodate families in surrounding communities.
What are your local St. Louis office hours, and are you available for emergencies?
While our administrative office in Creve Coeur is open during standard business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) for consultations and care planning, our care services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
We maintain a dedicated, live on-call local supervisor at all times. If your loved one faces an unexpected late-night hospital discharge from BJC HealthCare, Mercy, or St. Luke’s, or if a primary family caregiver falls ill over the weekend, you will always speak to a real person who can coordinate emergency care transitions immediately.
Does Accessible Home Health Care of St. Louis accept Missouri Medicaid (MO HealthNet)?
We work closely with families to navigate the complexities of paying for care. MO HealthNet (Missouri Medicaid) offers specific Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) programs—such as the Aged and Disabled Waiver (ADW) and the Personal Care Program—designed to cover non-medical in-home personal care or companion services for eligible individuals who meet a nursing home level of care.
Because eligibility thresholds change annually and require formal medical and functional assessments through the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS), we recommend calling our office. We can help clarify your options, determine if your current waiver program aligns with our agency’s credentialing, or explore alternative routes such as long-term care insurance, VA Aid and Attendance benefits, and private pay structures.
How do you match St. Louis families with the right caregiver?
We utilize our proprietary AccessMatch program to eliminate the stress of inviting a stranger into your home. Instead of just dispatching whoever is next on a rotation, we evaluate your loved one’s specific medical challenges, routine preferences, and personality traits.
Whether your parent needs a caregiver who understands complex dementia care routines or simply wants a companion who shares a love for St. Louis sports or gardening, we prioritize a compatible match. Every caregiver is fully background-checked, insured, and licensed for your absolute safety.
Can we adjust our care schedule if our needs change?
Absolutely. We pride ourselves on flexibility and do not tie St. Louis families down to rigid, long-term contracts. Health needs shift—your parent might require comprehensive assistance immediately following a surgical procedure at a local hospital, but then slowly transition back to needing only a few hours of companion care a week. Our care managers continuously review your plan and let you scale hours up or down seamlessly to match your family’s exact reality.
